Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after spring of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five points to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.
The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he secured the title with a rally at the net area, with his opponent unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
